Subject: Bid Opening Results Sammelman Road - Contract ID 2020-04
At 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 bids were opened on the Sammelman Road Project, Contract ID 2020-04. In attendance from the City to witness the bids were Bill Schnell, Bill Hanks, Michael Padella and Mayor Don Licklider.
The following bids were opened and read aloud.

Spencer Contracting $158,735.61
Gershenson $169,214.70 E.
Meier $203,918.26
Build Pro STL $132,833.98 Low Bid Build Pro STL was the apparent low bid.

The contract documents will now be checked for conformance and presented to the Board of Alderman with a recommendation for approval on February 9, 2021.

Sealed bids for the City of Weldon Spring, Sammelman Road Improvements Project (hereinafter “Project”) will be received by City of Weldon Spring, 5401 Independence Rd, Weldon Spring, Missouri 63304, until 2:00 p.m. CST, on Thursday, January 21, 2021 , where they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Scope of Work for road improvements includes clearing, grading, drainage, erosion control, pavements, signing, striping, and sodding and misc. items to improve the curve on Sammelman Road in Weldon Spring, MO.
Bid packages will be available after 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 .    Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, plans will be available via email and may be obtained by contacting Bill Schnell, City Engineer at cityengineer@weldonspring.org.  Please note that in order to bid this project, the bidder must be listed on the bidders list and registered with the City of Weldon Spring prior to bidding. To be placed on the bidders list, please contact Bill Schnell per the above email address and request to be placed on the bidders list. If a hard copy set of plans is desired, the Contractor may arrange to pick up a hard copy set from the Weldon Spring City Hall, 5401 Independence Road, Weldon Spring, MO 63304, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $125.00 per set. A non-mandatory but recommended pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Weldon Spring City Hall at 5401 Independence Rd., Weldon Spring, Missouri 63304.
A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The City of Weldon Spring anticipates issuing notice of award and notice to proceed in mid to late spring of 2021 .
Please note that Missouri’s Prevailing Wage Law establishes a minimum wage rate for public works projects in Missouri valued over $75,000. If the project is over $75,000, the wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in this specification.
Effective January 1, 2009, and pursuant to RSMo 285.530 (1), No business entity or employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the state of Missouri. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming the business entity's enrollment and participation in the federal work authorization program and that all of its employees working for the contracted services are not illegal immigrants.
The City of Weldon Spring hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
