This year's Kids' Fishing Day was a huge success! The weather was great and so was the turnout. If you missed it you must check out some of the photos highlighting the day. CERT, Cottleville Fire Dist., St. Charles County Police were all on hand to share safety info and display some of their equipment.

The City hosted it's annual Kids' Fishing Day on Saturday, June 9th from 9:00 AM - Noon and had it's biggest turnout in the history of the event (and that's no fish story). There were folks from all over the City and even some from other parts of the County that made it out. In all we had over 60 kids that took part in the event and parents and grandparents all enjoyed the great weather and were able to enjoy a little fishing too. The rain held off until just a little after noon which was also perfect.

There were several nice sized catfish that were pulled in.  One dedicated dad even went in the water after his fishing pole because the fish pulled so hard and took the bait and all!  But his dedication paid off because he and his son landed the fish about the same time as their friends and a photo op of all four was the trophy (not to mention the fish stories that will be able to be told for years to come)!

Mayor Licklider was on hand to pass out worms to the young fishermen/woman and we had many volunteers helping out and providing safety and clean water tips to the public. We hope you will join us again next year as we promote fishing and getting outdoors to enjoy mother nature!
