Potential Pedestrian Improvement in Weldon Spring

3/9/2023 | Posted in: News
Recently the City of Weldon Spring engaged the services of Cochran Engineering, to complete two studies. The first focused on existing and potential pedestrian crossing locations throughout the City. The second feasibility report focused on five short walking facility concepts which were initially identified in the citywide Parks & Greenways Master Plan. Each study analyzed available data points and site conditions with the focus on maintaining or improving safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
The Pedestrian Crossing Study recommended several upgrades and improvements to existing crossings along with recommending one new crossing at Wolfrum Rd. and Independence Rd./Rosemont Dr. The Walking Facility Feasibility Report reviewed short trail or sidewalk extensions that could improve connectivity in various locations in the City. The Board of Aldermen are in the process of reviewing these documents and are considering which improvements are the highest priority. Full copies of each study/report are attached, and the public is encouraged to review the documents and provide the City will input or feedback. Note, that just because certain concepts/improvements are shown in the studies does not mean they will be pursued or that alternate versions may take precedent.

To share your input or feedback about the attached studies please feel free to contact City Hall at 636.441.2110 or via email.  We look forward to hearing from you.
