If you encounter anyone that needs a place to sleep when temperatures are predicted to go below 20 degrees at night they can stay at one of the emergency shelters.

For more information, they must contact the Emergency Shelter Hot Line, (636-395-0492).  The shelter hotline is not open until after 3:00 pm and only when weather is predicted to be below 20 degrees.  These shelters are rotated among several churches.  They are only open for the hours of 9:00 pm to 7:00 am.  Transportation maybe available but must be coordinated through the emergency hot line.  These services are available for St. Charles City, including St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren Counties.

Daytime Warming Centers:  I know that public libraries, and hospital waiting rooms, allow people to stay within their facilities during their hours of operation. There may be a few new ones, as soon as I find out I will let you know.

The Salvation Army Shelter is located in the City of O’Fallon, (they only take single women, women with children, or married couples with children.  They do not allow single men to stay at the shelter.
